Plaza theatre
The Plaza Theatre was built February 1927, the owner of the theatres of El Paso decided to build this theatre because he bought a property and he said that since the people of El Paso have been very good to him he was going to build something good for the city, something that everybody would be proud of. H. T. Ponsford & Sons built the theatre, the theatre was designed by architect W. Scott Dunne and constructed by C.A Goetting consturction company. The opening night was September 12, 1930 with the movie "Follow Through" to a capacity crowd of 2,410. It was the first public theatre with air conditioning in the U.S.
